Admission to the Engineering Management Program

An applicant to the Master of Science in Engineering degree program should possess a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in a science or other discipline, combined with professional experience pertaining specifically to the technical aspects of engineering, may be acceptable. A person with engineering or engineering management experience, whose bachelor's degree is in other than one of the above, may be accepted to the program with some pre-requisite engineering course work.  An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is desirable.

The certificate program is designed for an applicant who does not wish to pursue a degree in Engineering Management.  A candidate pursuing a certificate must show proof of an appropriate bachelor's degree from an accredited program.

International students must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).  To be admitted as a regular student to the School of Engineering, the applicant must achieve 550 (paper test) or 213 (computer-based test);  however, unlike the applied math based curriculum of most graduate engineering programs, the courses in this program are strongly language based.  Good English speaking and comprehension skill is ESSENTIAL for these courses.
