Boyd A. Jones was born in New Hampshire, raised in Maine, and has lived and worked in many locations around the world. He earned a BS degree in Engineering Management from Norwich University in Northfield Vermont. Commissioned in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, his initial service was in Germany, then Vietnam. After completing additional military training in Virginia, he earned an MS in Engineering Administration from the University of Missouri, Rolla. Assignments in Vietnam and Texas were followed by graduation from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, where he subsequently taught selected core and elective courses and served as a member of the graduate faculty. He transferred to Germany to lead and serve in major combat engineer units. After returning to the United States, he graduated from the U.S. Army War College and assumed responsibility for coordinating civil works projects along the eastern seaboard for the Corps of Engineers. Another assignment as an engineer leader in Germany was followed by strategic missile defense duty, and service on the Army staff. He next led a major organization charged with the evaluation of emerging equipment and systems. After retiring from the Army, he earned a Ph. D. from George Mason University in organizational informatics. He has developed several academic courses, authored numerous short articles, and teaches Technology Management, Software Engineering and Information Systems in the Engineering Management Master's degree program at the Catholic University of America. He owns a small disabled veterans consulting business and works as a consultant for the Institute for Defense Analyses. Dr. Jones is the recipient of numerous U.S. and foreign awards and decorations, including the Purple Heart.
